MACS were appointed to work in collaboration with the LGSF manufacturer and the design team to develop a cost effective, bespoke residential development comprising of 41 dwellings adjacent to a river side location. With the build being located on an existing grade II listed site dating back to the 17th century, it presented its own challenges with regards to logistics and access on site. The site comprising of four houses and a six-story apartment block with 37 apartments constructed using a fully load bearing offsite, pre panelised bolted light gauge steel frame. The system also incorporated a concrete composite floor system and light gauge cold-rolled roof joists. These were pre panelised off site in order to reduce the installation time on site. The project incorporated a hot-rolled transfer frame to lower basement levels, hot-rolled balcony frames and steel stair units all designed and detailed to a high level of accuracy using Tekla Structures to ensure a seamless installation on site.
