MACS were contacted by the Airport owner who was looking to refurbish a World War II control tower to create a restaurant / bar with a viewing platform to provide much needed infrastructure for people looking to use the airport. MACS provided a fully galvanized hot-rolled steel frame with a concrete composite decking system to form the restaurant / bar seating areas, along with access stairs from ground floor level up to the outside terrace seating area and the existing fully operational control tower. All detailing / design and material supply including installation of hot-rolled steel work was provided by MACS to the customer who was beyond pleased with the refurbished building, which has led to an 80% increase in visitors to the airport mainly due to the excellent amenities now available.
